The Commercial wing was founded in Durban, with construction of numerous factories and warehouses for clients such as Alex Carriers and Desjuan and Deshud Investments.
Relocation to Johannesburg saw Stewart approached by BFH Project Managers to take up a leading role in the R2,4 billion reconstruction and upgrading of the OR Tambo International Airport in time for the 2010 World Cup. This project was a serious challenge but was completed on time; facilitating the arrival of millions of people to SA. The airport has subsequently won numerous awards. Stewart was involved in all aspects of its development, including the prestigious OR Tambo International Transit hotels and VIP Protocol lounges.
On completion of this project Stewart moved on to a new R700million project, undertaking the development and construction of 5 massive new distribution warehouses for Barloworld and the Ellerines Group in Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Kwa-zulu Natal.
On completion of these Stewart took on the R 600 mil project of the refurbishment and upgrading of the 3 buildings at the University of Johannesburg‘s Doornfontein Campus as well as 3 Buildings on the Kingsway Campus with individual values ranging from R15 million to R360 million.
Current projects include a mixed–use project (1200 housing units, shopping centre and industrial sector in Roodepoort) and new shopping centres in Cato Ridge; Mokomeni; Orange Farm; Moloto; Albermarle; valued between R150 mil and R200 mil.
